The tomato hybrid Shepherd F1 is early: the period from seed germination to the start of fruiting is 94-97 days. The plant is indeterminate, medium leafy. The first inflorescence is formed after the appearance of 8-9 leaves, and each subsequent one - after 3 leaves. Usually there are 5-6 flowers in an inflorescence. The fruits have a smooth, round, heart-shaped shape with a “spout.” At the technical stage of ripeness they are green, and when fully ripe they become dark red, while the stalk does not have a yellow spot. The hybrid stands out for its high ability to set fruit and productivity. The fruits are uniform in shape and size, resistant to cracking and disease, and have high taste properties. The average fruit weight is 180-250g. In a film greenhouse, the yield exceeds 15 kg per square meter. The hybrid is resistant to TMV and tolerant to Alternaria. It is supposed to be grown in film greenhouses and open ground on a trellis, while the plants are formed into one stem, and the planting density is 3-4 plants per square meter.
High tying ability is what makes Shepherd stand out among indeterminates: the tassels are filled consistently, without empty knots. The fruit is smooth, round-heart-shaped with a spout, dark red when fully ripe, without a yellow spot at the stalk - the fraction is completely marketable.
